We’re gonna take the right steps, the best steps, to protect your body from any harm when you’re swinging these heavy tools, like these amazing macebells or clubs. Believe me, it’s gonna be fantastic!

Alright, let’s get down to business. Peter, tell me, what are the biggest mistakes you see people making when they’re using a tool like the macebell?

You know, because the mace is like an extended lever, a really long lever, right?

So, people think, “Hey, the bigger the motion, the more benefit I’ll get.” And swinging the mace can be beneficial, I gotta say. But here’s the problem, folks. They don’t have that solid foundation, that nice pillar. They’re not grounded, you know what I mean?

They’re just going with the flow, riding that momentum. And let me tell you, they’re gonna get knocked off balance real quick. They don’t understand that if you swing the mace to the left, you gotta counter it by charging the right side of your body, folks. It’s simple physics, believe me. Look at kettlebell training, for example. When you do a single-arm press with a kettlebell, if it’s on the right side, your left oblique better be ready for action. You follow?

Training with a macebell it’s no different, folks. To do it right, you gotta own that middle, that midline. No matter what you’re doing, that’s the key. You gotta be right in the middle, believe me. Now, Peter, why don’t you give that sucker a swing? I know you swing a heavier mace than this, but let’s give it a shot.

That’s great! Now, you’re a classically trained mace swinger, and I see how you drive it up, hands going to the same side as the weight. But let’s mix things up a bit, huh? Let’s choke up on the mace a little.

Perfect! Now, let’s try something new, something amazing. We’re gonna focus on owning the middle, my friend. As you swing it out to the side, I want you to think about blocking a downward blow from a sword. Yeah, just like that. Drive the hands up, pull it back down to the middle. Beautiful! Look at that control.

Now, don’t forget to try the other side too. That’s it! You wanna stop it right there in a horizontal position, so you gotta generate that tension. Slow it down, tighten it up, and pull it back with a bang. Fantastic!
